RG-EGYPT

Just wondering why this guitar is so sought after? Someone in another thread said that it was the best J.Custom ever! Is this just because it is 1 of a kind? Cos to me it just looks like an RG with a few egyptian designs stuck on it.

Cheers

Re: RG-EGYPT

These J Custom Rg Guitars, are sometimes one off, like the egypt, but not only that there is alot of hand work that goes into it. There is a difference between an Rg that is made from a production line, as apposed to a hand built one.

Also they are not just stuck on, they are drawn or painted on by an artists, selected by Ibanez.

But in the end its only special to those who find it special.

Me Id love to own it. Not only is there some serious handy work involved, but its a one or 2 of a kind...

Re: RG-EGYPT

If I remember right, and I've played it, the symbols and art work are engraved into the body. Stunning work of art, and totally unappreciated until you get close enough to really look at it.

Makes sense, thematically, but it isn't a JEM. In fact, that's probably precisely why it *doesn't* have those inlays. Don't see those on any Ibanez guitars except JEMs.

Re: RG-EGYPT

Those pics are kinda blurry, I wish the owner would take some nice new ones for us to look at.... That headstock is awesome. and the body looks like a real egyptian, artwork like the ones you would find in an old underground tomb. Great stuff. I want it..... gimme gimme

It says: "the secret to playing like Vai in ten minutes is ..... "

Sorry, can't make out the rest. Then again, my knowledge of hieroglyphics comes pretty much from Bubba Ho-Tep.

I'm pretty sure the one on the headstock would say either "Ibanez", "J-Custom" or both.
