Re: RG series

If you dont mind buying used, you can get a nice prestige ibanez RG (ither RG550, or RG1570) for about the same price. Definitely look into it

Re: RG series

I've gigged with RG3xx's (Indonesian and Korean Ibanez guitars and such) and they're good for one set gigs. If I were doing 4 set cover gigs on a regular basis I'd probably go for something of better quality, especially if it has a trem. jmo166 probably said it best in looking for a used RG550 or RG1550. There's lots of good used instruments out there, I think. With new Prestige prices spiking in the range of 100% there's lots of guys out there who are asking too much for used gear. If you can be patient you might find a good used RG at a good price.
Good luck!

Re: RG series

I think the new RG3xx's with the EZII make a great stage guitar. They just need a ton of setup to be stage ready.

If your not going new, the best advice has already been given............

Re: RG series

Yup get a used RG550 or RG570... you'll be much happier in the end as far as quality vs. price...

Re: RG series

I'd try to snipe a used 550 as well. About the same price, possibly even lower. And it's a higher quality guitar with a really reliable trem. The EZ trems aren't bad... but reselling one if you don't like them doesn't sell as well.
