RG Wizard necks question..

Hello All,

I've had a rg370: http://www.guitar.com.au/guitars/ele...ts/RG370DX.htm

with a wizard II neck

then picked up at rg350:
http://www.***************.com/guita...lectric-guitar

with a wizard III maple neck

The 350 neck is thicker and the guitar is heavier. Can someone give me a comparison of the two different necks and what other necks Ibanez has?

I think I like the thicker III neck. Is there a general preference?

Both are really nice guitars, Ibanez makes a good product.

thanks!

Re: RG Wizard necks question..

They share the same measurements, but the difference you are feeling is the PROFILE, or the shape of the back of the neck. In my opinion, the Wizard III feels more like an original Wizard in shape, while the Wizard II feels like it has really chunky "shoulders", if that makes sense. I prefer the III, but I'm not sure that I've seen a majority choose one over the other.

Re: RG Wizard necks question..

The original wizard was 17mm thick at the nut, and 19mm at the 24th F. It was also 2mm narrower than the current wizard necks at the 24.

The current wizards a COMPLETELY different feel than the originals. So many people love the original Wizards, why not bring them back? FULLY SPEC'd as far as dimensions go?
