rg1451 - what do you think bout it?

RG1451 prestige

What do you guys think about this guitar?

I've searched for reviews to no avail. There isn't even a youtube video of it.
To the owners of this guitar, can you give out some comments?
Is this guitar worth to buy? I'm looking for a fixed bridge guitar and this is the only thing I can find in the prestige line that's in black, if you know any other model that's a fixed bridge rg prestige that doesn't look like a clown guitar then please post your recommendations.

I'm really thinking into trying out the ibanez guitars, I don't have one as of now but will have one soon as soon as somebody convinces me enough. I just want to have my money spent on a great guitar thanks!

Re: rg1451 - what do you think bout it?

I will write a review this week on it.

But as a teaser:
I love the guitar.
The tight end bridge is for me the best hard tail and most comfy I have ever played. The sustain of the guitar is endless and the harmonics come screaming out.
The neck is a typical prestige wizard, you love it or hate it. I really like it, but that is the same neck as most prestige RGs.
The finish was awesome and for the low pricepoint of that guitar (MIJ) it is OK for me to only get a gigbag (I simply ordered a M100C case with it).

The stock pickups are very good, but of course they try to please "everyone" so they are nothing special and do not stand out of the crowd. But that is with most stock pickups I know.
I think the guitar will do nice with some Breeds or if you prefer Duncans prolly pearlies.

So the guitar gets my recommendation.

Clown guitar ?!
I need to go to the circus LOL
I'd never buy a guitar without FR kinda trem.
Even if I'd never use it cause hard tail look damn fugly to me.
I'd prefer blocking a FR than buying a hard tail.

Re: rg1451 - what do you think bout it?

@tank - thanks man, I'm seriously thinking bout getting it. it'd be my ticket to joining the ibanez club lol

@6fingers - yeah i've been thinking if I should get one with a trem but in all seriousness, I just aint a fan of trems, I have a gutiar with a locking trem on it and I've blocked it, so it's kinda useless for me to get a guitar with a trem. At first I do admit that the 1451 looked rather imbalanced to me, since i'm used to seeing rg's with trems but the guitar kinda grew on me and I'm digging its looks more on more, it's a matter of preference I guess.

I'm with you on this one.

I know the virtues of this bridge, but really can't get on with the way it looks. If a guitar doesn't look cool I don't want to play it I've got loads of guitars that DO look cool so I'll turn to them instead.

Again, me too.

I never understood why the Edge FX never caught on as a hardtail for whammy players. The JS2000 looks good (black headstock notwithstanding)and sounds great and the Edge FX bridge ensures it stays in tune no matter what you throw at it.

you are right, the Edge FX is absolutely awesome.
Sadly not used anymore...

I like the tight end though, it just feels so comfy under your hand.

Edge FX doesn't look like you'd get the desired tone or sustain a fixed bridge player is likely looking for.

i agree. i think players who typically are used to playing with floating bridges and locking nuts are the ones who generally prefer the edge fx. they like the feel of it because they are used to it or something similar. but i personally prefer the old school gotoh hardtail that comes on the js6/js1600. it's what i've learned to play on and with locking tuners, the tuning stability is pretty much perfect. the fx edge just seems like overkill and more hassle than it's worth. plus i like the sound of strings through the body in general.

The 1451 is ugly as hell with the pickguard.

How does the presence or absence of a whammy bar (FR) make or break the look of a guitar?

I don't understand this comment either.

What's the difference between having the pickguard on the 1451, vs. the look of the 1550, 2550 and 3550s which also have a similar pickguard? Or are you saying all RGs with a pickguard are ugly?

The pickguard should have been at least a different colour. White guitar with white pickguard is bland to say the least.

Re: rg1451 - what do you think bout it?

I think people are just used to seeing rg's with trems that's why they're not feeling the 1451
