Re: RG1560 or RG550?

I've got 2 others with that jack Actually...I like not having to be as careful when I'm plugging the cable in. On my other RGs I'm always nervous about denting/chipping the area around the input jack.

It was released here, just through Chesbro, in a limited number. I wish they'd release it as a full production model, though. And, I'll second the request for a 1565....

Any place to find reliable specs on these??? I haven't found any in my catalogs (2008 or 2009) I wouldn't mind picking one up, but I'd like to confirm the neck profile first........ I've seen both Super Wizard (ala the 3550) and Wizard prestige advertised.

I don't think it was ever a catalog item. As for specs, it's the same as any 1550/1570 (Wizard Prestige), but with HSS layout. Only available in Jewel Blue.

I'm wondering the same thing. Here's where I first found it last year, and, apparently they still have them "new":
http://www.buyfromchucks.com/product...Path=6_139_254
I found it completely by mistake, some random typing error while Googling lol. The ONLY reason I don't have one is because I work for a Hoshino dealer, and can't get one thru them. Employee pricing is good . But, I'll be watching for this NGD, just to see what that stamp really means. I've heard of people buying guitars marked as such before, and not being able to detect why it's marked that way. If that's the case, I may be in the market for one. At the reduced "second" price, of course....

I actually tried out the rg1560 there and was the reason why i ended up getting one. Of course, i didn't buy new from them ($1000) but found one for $650, stamped used however. Will report back once i receive the guitar....

Re: RG1560 or RG550?

at some point I was reading something on Rich's site ( www.ibanezrules.com ) about a batch of guitars that he had with the "used" stamp or an "S" for second, or something along those lines... I can't remember what guitars it was on, but IIRC it was more for warranty purposes than anything else....... Maybe Rich will see this and chime in???

The only prestige that has super wizard HP is the higher end RG 3XXX.
the prestige wizard HP is a fat a s s neck, rounder and thicker than original wizard.
I dig the HSS config on the 1560, but considering the neck specs... I'll go with the old trusty 550.

I wouldn’t say “fat ass” but it is a bit different, and if you are used to that neck type then it will be noticeable. Also it has the Wizard prestige. Which for that year was 18-20mm.

well, before you want to pose like a smartass, maybe you should learn your stuff better.

that post was 2011, and the comparison is between wizard prestige HP and old (orginal ) wizard.
The 652 is introduced in 2015 respectively, and yes indeed has a slimmer neck profile like.
