Totally agree. For the price, you can even throw in some new pickups and it's still cheap for a guitar of this quality.

What seals the deal for me is the awesome Prestige Wizard neck. In the sub $1000 USD pricerange nothing compares.

If you want a guitar for shred/hair metal then look no further. I've had mine for two years now and it hasn't let me down yet. I doubt it ever will.

Rock on!

Until you find a untouched one with case for under $400.

Re: RG1570

I have one and I'll agree with a lot of what was said here. The build quality is fantastic. All of the tolerances are very tight. The fine tuners on the trem move smoothly and precisely. The frets are smooth at the sides of the neck. It's really is a nearly-perfect guitar. The body is a dark blue. In the light, you can see little sparkles of blue, green, and dark purple, but only if you shine a light on it or if you look at it outside in the daylight. The pickups are a little "dark," in my opinion. If you play hard rock and heavy metal it would be just right. As for me, I think I might replace them with some classic DiMarzios. A very, very nice guitar.

Re: RG1570

..but can you buy a new RG550?
So then you'd maybe say that the 2550 is the poor man's Jem...but the 1570 is essentially the same thing, but cheaper - hence the poor man's Jem

I wouldn't even go so far as to call the 1570 a poor man's Jem because you have to customize it before you could really say that. Considering that you can customize it any way you want to, I'd say the 1570 the poor man's LOTS-of-things guitar

Re: RG1570

Yeah im thinking about swapping out the Pickups for Super Distortions or PAF Pros, Dunno yet though. and both the Mirage Blue and Red are very tempting...

So much disicission! haha

Re: RG1570

Hi : - ) I purchased an RG1570 6 months back & love it just as much to this day. Thin flat neck, sexy body and the edge pro just does not go out of tune! I'm keen on changing pickups eventually though.

Also the photos you see online are VERY different than how the paint job looks in real life. I have the MRB and like it says 'mirage' it looks black 90% of the time which I really dig.

Enjoy your purchase

Re: RG1570

I find that MRBs, at least all the ones I have seen look dark blue, but they change colors when the light hits the guitar, IMO MRB is way nicer than MRR, but I like blue

Re: RG1570

I wanted one of these guitars so bad for a really long time, but the local guitar stores absolutely refuse to carry high-end, trem equipped Ibanez's, at least that is what it feels like.

It is well into March and Guitar Center still hasn't gotten a single 2008 Ibanez yet, nor did they ever carry any prestige ibanez with a trem in the 2 years I've been going there. I would have bought one but there's no way for me to get one except through an online order. And I'm never ordering online again except perhaps from Rich.

Bleh..

Re: RG1570

^ Aye, Rich is where im ordering From. Local music stores are horrible round here, they sell RG350's for $700 and really good condition 1976 Gibson SG's for only $1500! the pricing is messed up.

Re: RG1570

I have an 03 1570 and it's still my main axe, absolute best bang for buck IMO.

Re: RG1570

If you're not sure whether to get the MRB or the MRR, you should definately get the MRR. I've seen the MRB in the shop quite a few times, and I own the MRR myself, and it looks way better than the MRB. It's black most of the time, but when it hits the light it's either red, gold, brown, green, yellow, and sometimes even blue, it really depends on the angle =)

EDIT: If you don't believe me about the colours, I've just made some photos here http://hylkefaber.googlepages.com/home, so you can see for yourself.

Where's arnprior? In Mississauga I tried a ton of prestige RG's at L.A. music. Generally the guys that work there are idiots, but their stock is very good if you want to try an guitars out. The guitar shop across the street is good too - they get a lot of high end PRS but no Ibanez (although they can order them for you, and do a set up etc.) I used to try guitars out at L.A. music and get Guitar Shop to order them for me.
