A (Gibson?) SG and an RG are extremely different guitars.
Maybe you are just used to the SG neck, which is a baseball bat.
But I'd like to read comments from the experienced guys about this.

Re: RG1570

I believe you can get used to most necks. I don't really think a neck shape translates into better playing if your a good guitarist. I do think the feel is importnt. If you are more comfortable on a gibson style neck then go for it. There are plenty of players who play on necks like that that are just as fast as anyone on a wizard.

But, it's all about whats comfortable to you. I think you could get used to the feeling on the neck of the 1570. I had a strat ad then switched to a gibson and got used to it. I never thought "I can't play as well on this." I did think "this is a lot mor comfortable" when I switched from my gibson to my Ibanez. But, faster better, no. Easier to play the same stuff on because of comfort, yes.

Re: RG1570

well I also own a sg but mine has the slim taper (60s) neck profile which is quite thinner than the rounded (50s) profile but fatter than the wizard prestige, and I also find it a little uncomfortable to play power chords on the 1st to 3rd fret, however it was way worse when I first got it, my guess is that the rounder the neck is, the more comfortable to play chords and the thinner, the more comfortable it is to play in the upper frets

Re: RG1570

Yeah its a Gibson. i cant find any specs on it, but its a bit rounder than the Ibanez. even when i got the Gibson and started playing it (after having a cheap Samach) i noticed i could play things i couldnt play before, not just the same stuff better. dunno why that is though. Well im going to be getting the Guitar in a Few Days. Pics will come! :

Re: RG1570

They are pretty much the same thing, except the pickup rings on the 570 which I believe are gone on the new 1570s

Re: RG1570

I love the look of direct mounted pickups. 1 problem is the height adjusting isn't as great as the ones in the pickup rings.

Re: RG1570

The 1570 is the newer 570 when things changed to Prestige designations etc. Normally the 570 and the 1570 are basswood. Yours is a limited run of ash ( i believe).

Re: RG1570

I was looking at the ibanez site yesterday and I noticed that theres an RGR1570 too... I checked the specs and it's almost the exact same thing as the RG1570

Is there any other difference between these two guitars other than the finish and the reverse headstock?

Re: RG1570

I'm pretty sure the only difference between the two is aesthetic.

No, it's just the same guitar with a reverse stock.

And to the guy who asked about comfort with power chords on the wizard, yes you get used to it. I had been playing LP's almost exclusively before I took the Ibanez jump and it's a matter of learning the feel of the neck. It takes a while. But that's to be expected.

Oh and btw, I have an RG1570 with a 2550 neck and original lo-pro bridge off an RG1200. It's just great. Plays just as good as my old RG550 and my newer Iby's as well. Although I'm not a huge fan of the lo-pro feel, I find it's an interesting bridge none the less.
