RG170 - Modifying
(So I am a total n00b when it comes to any sort of modification with guitars).
I am buying a RG170 for around $100 for fun.
I was going to try and make it a guitar I can modify - i.e. change the pickups etc.
Which brings me to my question:
Can I change the pick ups to -
Neck: a DiMarzio® PAF® 36th Anniversary DP103 neck pickup
Middle: stock
Bridge: a DiMarzio® Super Distortion® DP100 bridge pickup
Let me know =)

Of course you can. You might want to invest in new electronics altogether. At least a new multi-pole switch, so you can play around with the pickup selections.

Cool - I have no idea about electronics - I was going to go down the path of buying the Pickups (and this multi-pole switchy doo hickey) and pay someone to modify it for me.
Anyone in Melbourne that can help!?

if you have a steady hand and a soldering iron (fine head), you should be able to do this all by yourself! Lots of wiring diagrams around here.

well the sale fell thru - guitar was broken
