They play well, but not everyone wants a fluorescent pink or yellow guitar. It might be out of place in a rock band, or black metal band, or jazz band.

So if you could choose the colors for the next release, what would you choose?

I hate to be plain but I would say:

White with white pickguard, with dark fretboard with white sharktooth inlay

Black with black pickguard, with dark fretboard and silver sharktooth inlay

Purple Neon. Ibanez has so many classic colors from the late 80's and early 90's.

The fluorescent green color (i.e. as close to LNG as possible), with maple.

Well... I WAS getting ready to say "in before LNG".... but I digress.

Personally, I love what IBZ is doing with this years reissues. If anybody wants a different or more modern color, just go for a normally premium.

Fender doesn't put their modern colors on their reissues.

Sorry... I love green. What can I say. And I'll probably never own a real JEM777LNG.

Me too. However, is it just me or does this anniversary seem to lack the fanfare of the RG20th from 2007. (I own one in RFR). No special color matched cases, no case candy (anniversary picks, etc.), in fact not even a case at all.

And, has there been any mention of production numbers for the 25th? I don't recall seeing any. But for the RG20th, it was well known about "limited to 1987 copies" (with only the exact split of colors between BK/DY/RF being a bit unknown).

That has had me puzzled a bit, too. I was expecting to do a bit more with it, besides just the guitar. Do these even come with a certificate? At least a strap would have been nice, or some picks.... Picks are cheap, too. I guess the excuse would have to be "the economy", since it is a bit worse off than it was 5 years ago, but that is all I can imagine.

Re: The RG1XXVs are sexy, but ideally what color would you want?

There's a simple answer. The Japanese Yen peaked versus the US Dollar in July 2007 at about 123 Yen. Now one US Dollar buys you less than 83 Yen. This is why the MIJ Prestige Ibanez guitars are so expensive now and, my bet, as to why the Premium line came about at all.
I have a sneaky feeling that much more than 1987 were made of all RG25's.

That would be very nice! Also, a color that would be nice, for a 550 sort of configuration, not a reissue, though - Would be a nice vibrant ruby red. I don't think Ibanez has done anything like that before though, and I don't mean anything like RFR. I mean literally ruby colored.
