Rg20051

Maybe my head is under a rock, but I haven't seen any discussion about the limited edition RG20051 here.

Only 12 in the UK. Does anyone know about any coming to the US? At 1250 GBP, it's still 2300+ USD.

Re: Rg20051

Ugly, IMHO. If it al least had a matching headstock...
Basswood, V7-V8 pups and 2300 USD.
Even if it is limited to 12, I would not buy one....

Re: Rg20051

There is really nothing special about that guitar. You can get a swirl like that from anywhere on an RG 570 or the like.

Re: Rg20051

The more I see it, the more I cant stand it! Like Jeff said, there isnt nothing special about it! I think it will look far better in the flesh obviously, like most things do. The pictures at the moment though just make it look fugly!

I thought so to but after seeing it in flesh in Frankfurt IMHO it is dull and boring. The pic above really shows it all.

Re: Rg20051

i think they are testing the waters with this guitar for something else. what could it possibly be? hmmmmm...
i thought it looked o.k. in person (NAMM '05) when i saw it. it is way overpriced and a rather boring color scheme. black with small streaks of silver would have been a little cooler IMO or even red and black w/ a matching headstock.
why can't they use REAL tonewoods like mahogany or alder when building expensive guitars like this? like it was said before, you could swirl an RG570 and end up with the same guitar for half of what they want for that one.

How right you are.

They have got to be kidding. The last RG5xx I picked up cost me $320. If I had a 5-color swirl done by a friend in the vicinity who does swirls, the whole damn guitar would cost about $750 to complete. And it would be one-of-a-kind. With a matching headstock, too... I'd make sure of that.

My '04 RG2770 will be the last new Ibanez I purchase until they get their heads outta their rectal cavities. I have had nothing but headaches trying to get my 2770 setup; their build quality seems woefully inadequate compared to my other RG's which are all older than 1995. With the troubles I've had with the 2770... and now this crazy price on a freakin' RG... I'm done with new Ibanez's. Evilbay will be my Ibanez store... or the used section on this site.

I'm bewildered at the company's direction in recent years... at least there are plenty of used RG's to be had out there.

pooed.

i just had to write that word. i have actually never written that word before or possibly have never read it written down before now.

pooed in the same sentence as lovely and black.

Re: Rg20051

it's pretty boring isn't it..... i don't think i would ever own a guitar like that.

v7 v8's = $2300 What the @#%$..... a 7vwh would be cheaper and look and sound so much better.
