RG20th Casing Problem?

Hi Guys,

just wondering if you all have any problem fitting the rg550 into its case?

Because the body of my DY will not rest flatly inside the case. The guitar is slightly lifted upward from the neck joint area onwards as the neck support portion of the case seems to be too high, thus lifting up the guitar and causing a gap in between the neck joint and the base of the case.

The guitar is resting in a slanted position when inside the case.

RG550MXX and RXX models should have come with Prestige style cases instead of the non-form fitting ones Ibanez decided on. This is just someone being cheap IMO, never mind the "colour matching cases!!! OMG!!!".

Mine fits OK, but I agree with the above comment. It's hard to believe Ibanez decided to cheap out like this with the 20th cases.

Mine's been out of it's case since I got it and it's played daily. How you getting on with yours, Andy?

He's trying to keep the glow of the DY off the Sun so it doesn't fade any more than it already has.

Re: RG20th Casing Problem?

Andy, I was informed earlier this year that these reissues have better paint, less likely to fade like the originals. On the other hand, I read somewhere that they used the exact original paint formula.

Go figure...

Re: RG20th Casing Problem?

yeah mines similar, i dont like the idea of pressure been added to the neck joint so I stand my case up vertically against a wall.

Reason why I keep mine in the cases is because of dust, dust gets everwhere and it's a git when it works its way into the bridge and pick ups.

The worst case I bought was an Ibanez one that says its for RG's and all the guitar weight made it go on the neck joint. I had to rip out the inside bit so it lays flat, but weight is on the head, and so still putting pressure on the neck joint, so i pad the neck joint so the weight goes on the body. I use that case for my 350.

You'd think it'd be pretty simple to make a case!

The Jem case is the best, made to fit perfect. But the 20th case is ok, least it's better than the case my 350 is in.
