RG20th Registry: Anyone else impatiently frustrated?

I've been watching the RG20th registry site (www.rg20th.com) eagerly ever since I got my RG550MXXRF back in May. I have to say I'm a bit dismayed at how long its taking to fill up. There was a huge surge in the beginning, then it seemed to settle around ~ 30 new additions per month, then dropped right off this fall.

So far to date there are only 259/1987 guitars registered. That's only 13.0%!!

Also the demographics haven't changed much since the beginning. Its mostly DYs registered, followed by RF, with BK at a distant 3rd (I guess that's no surprise).

Have all the RG20ths been sold yet? Surely there are more "informed" buyers still out there that KNOW what the guitar is and would want to participate with other fans/owners in the registry.

Are there people on THIS site that have one or more RG20ths and have not added themselves to the registry yet?

I think all of the 1st 100 registered are DY only so far.

Ive got mines on there. I belive it will never be 100% complete. Most people who bought this guitar will not have a clue that the registry is in existance. If i never came onto this website I wouldnt of registered mines, and I dont think I would of looked to find a place to register it either.

Re: RG20th Registry: Anyone else impatiently frustrated?

^^ As Apmaman suggested, and has been suggested here before, very few people will know the 20th Registry site exists. If it was an official site, maybe it'd be a different story, but it's not.

Also, the site owner doesn't do much to advertise the site. I think I've done more myself to help get it known (no disrespect to Kevin, he's a great guy, but he doesn't seem to frequent Ibanez related forums at all).

Well we need to stir up a little PSA (Public Service Announcement) then:

FRIENDS TELL FRIENDS TO REGISTER THEIR RG20THS!!!

Pass it on!

I've seen at least 2 BK's at two different stores that are still "fresh" though it seems like they end up getting mixed in the same section as the Korean/Indonesian RG's. Anybody else who doesn't have an eye to differentiate a low-end RG and an RG20th, the 550BK looks too "plain" compared to 370DX. Two different classes of guitars but to anybody else, such a question could arise: "why would I want to dish out $900 for an all black guitar when for $500, I can get a guitar with a mirror pickguard?" Shallow reasonings but there are those kind of people...
I guess BK isn't a popular color when it comes to the 20th... and the rosewood board isn't helping its popularity either. I was pretty close to saving one of the BK's I saw but I'd rather score a DY or an RF except I've never seen both [original or 20th] in person.

Re: RG20th Registry: Anyone else impatiently frustrated?

I have a small thing about it on my Signature on Ultimate-guitar.

If the chance came to getting a 20th that was black dirt cheap I probably would get it and get it painted RFR. Trouble is I have no idea what the colour actually looks like. Getting a paint code for it would be hard as well. However, I have my eyes set on a Brian May sig and one of those RGR350's in the 2008 thread... Whoooah!

If you can imagine fluorescent red, that's what RFR looks like. Think highlighter pen.

Patrick Sims can probably get a very close match to RFR.
