RG2570e vs Jem jr

Hi all,
I'm a total newbie to Ibanez.
I am sorting a deal and find myself choosing between a silver 2570e and the new Jem jr.
Cost wise is the same situation, obviously the 2570e does have a little wear, jr in new.
All opinions welcome please.
Cheers
Mark

Re: RG2570e vs Jem jr

For me the RG is the hands down winner of the pair. Far higher quality instrument.

The RG2570e is made in Japan, with higher quality control. Go for it!

Re: RG2570e vs Jem jr

Cheers guys, I'm totally with you, I'm sure the RG will be a better guitar. I'll be honest, the main thing that is making me look at the Jem jr is
1. The silver finish on the RG I FUGLY
2. It's a Jem (cosmetically)

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Pretty much what he said really. There plenty second hand guitars about, never any shortage of RG'S for sale. RG550's floating about etc.

I understand your opinion on the silver finish (although I have one), that said I don't like Jem's.

What is price bracket your looking in?

Re: RG2570e vs Jem jr

I got to check out a new Jem Jr. at the local music store... and wasn't impressed. Granted, it was new and will need a setup, but a new guitar should at least be playable. The action at the 24th fret must have been 5 or 6mm! It just felt cheap... especially right after playing an RG655. You can pick up a used MIJ RG for less than the Jem Jr, for sure.

Only thing I'd love to do from a looks point of view is a pick guard. Can you get one that will fit?
