I've seen some interesting guitars on a local guitar ad site, and I thought why not share them with you guys. One of them is an RG3120 with HSH pickup config:
Looks like a normal 3120, with an added middle single coil. One of the previous owners chimed in on a local board and claimed that the middle pickup is NOT a mod, the guitar came originally with it. The neck pocket is stamped 3120. I've never seen such a guitar.
The other one is an odd bird, too: an 560 with a mahogany body. Unfortunately, I did not save all the pics of the advert, and the seller cancelled the ad this morning, so I don't have too much of the guitar, but believe me, it looked like a real deal from all angles, including the bridge cavity at the back (which is usually messed up on most non-factory RG bodies). I have an 560
myself, I'd say either it's a one-off/prototype/limited edition original Ibanez, or the best RG copy I've seen so far.
There's no HSH 3120 in any catalog, nor could I find any other documentation, picture online. The same goes for the Mahogany 560: those were only made of Basswood, as far as I know. I've seen some Mahogany 570's, but to my knowledge, no such 560 existed. Still, bare with me, it looks like an original guitar. So what do you guys think?
