RG3120 neck - gloss?

I played a RG320 yesterday and was surprised to see that the neck and fretboard were both finished with some sort of gloss finish. Did Ibanez do that before, with the RG3120 as well? That would be quite disappointing to me...

Wait. Did you play a 3120 or a 320? Because a 320 neck would be gloss because it's non- japan made, the 3120 would have a satin finish on the neck.

The RGT320Z (violet crystal) is made in Japan and the back of the neck is fully glossed. I should know.. I own one

To be honest it doesn't hinder my playing.. at first I was a bit afraid of it.. you can still slide your hand across fairly easily.

The RGT3020 has a natural satin finish on the back of the neck (with a fade).. so I'd imagine the RG3120 to be satin too

An RG320, being an Indo guitar, has a satin finish on the neck.

The RGT320, as mindwalker states, has a full gloss finish as all clear-coated neck-throughs.

As for the 3120, all I can say is that the first models back in the day had the same finish as on my S540, definitely not satin but also not too sticky of a gloss.

What kind of comparison is that, anyway?

Nothing that a little 0000 steel wool wouldn't take care of.
