Unhappy RG320FM Edge 3 Problem

I got a 07 RG320 in a trade, i loved it but it had no tremolo arm, no problem i set up the guitar so that the metal plate on the bridge is parallel with the body of the guitar, i was shocked that the RG320 stayed in tune 20X better than my Ibanez S Prestige. After a month the trem arm came in and i realized i had to raise the angle of the bridge because i like to use the arm backwards sometimes and it would hit the body. I raised the angle of the trem to where Ibanez says it suppose to be but now it dose not stay in tune at all. When i use i press the bar down to make the note flat and return the guitar is flat, if i pull the bar to make the note sharp and return the guitar is sharp.

Someone help me understand what the problem is and whats going on please and thank you!

Re: RG320FM Edge 3 Problem

There are already a ton of threads concerning this, so you should use the search feature to find them. Also, visit Rich's site, ibanezrules.com and go to the tech section. Sounds like you might need to reaccomplish the setup with the bar installed and intonate the guitar.

Re: RG320FM Edge 3 Problem

The first thing you need to do is follow the simplest suggestions provided. Did you redo the setup? Intonation? How about properly stretching the strings? You'll be better off trying these first than waiting for the guitar Gods to materialize in your home to fix it for you.

Re: RG320FM Edge 3 Problem

Sounds to me like you used to have the trem basically resting against the body (because of the wedge shape of the Edge 3 it would be parallel to the body at this point) and that would explain the tuning stability. Now your issue sounds like you need to follow Alaska Bat's advice. New strings and a setup, intonation will probably do wonders for you.
