RG550 1992 is this Emerald Green?

Hello friends and guitar freaks! Here's an Ibanez RG550 with serial f216700. I looked up the number and this indicates '92. I thought it was blue but took pictures and even though the headstock is bluer than the body, I believe it to be a matching original neck. But the body has more green in it. After trying to upload pictures I'm informed that because I have under 10 posts I cannot post a link or image. I will try to see if I can add some a tad later.. Bump impending.. Thanks!

Here are a couple of pictures of the guitar front, and a picture of the neck pocket. I have other pictures that I could add for more detail but feel these are some details that could indeed help a helping expert be able to tell what color it is. http://s92.photobucket.com/user/modo...merald%20Green

Cool that the neck pocket says "RG550DX" if it would have been Emerald Green indeed..

But to me it looks like Laser Blue.. Still pretty cool

The clear coat on these old RG's often yellows with age. If it's a blueish green it's likely laser blue. EG would be very green.

You guys are correct. It's Laser Blue.

For comparison, Here is a nicely yellowed Emerald Green.

Just edited it, although I can't figure why, on the neck pocket, there is definitely green in the base coat along the edges. Why would this be? I appreciate all the responses, though!

Re: RG550 1992 is this Emerald Green?

Also to determine the color I looked at this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ibanez-RG550...p2047675.l2557

This guitar looks just like my guitar, same bluer headstock, only difference is the green mirror guard, my guitar has a regular mirror guard. I wish I could be sure.

As a comparison, my listing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-Ibanez-...wAAOSwJcZWdyBT Plus this is a RG550DX, which is also consistent with the EG color contention. Thanks, the mystery continues although it is dispelled somewhat. Plus there is a 'G' on the neck pocket, would like to know what these letters mean in addition to the RG550dx. I know if it is LB it's an honest mistake!

Re: RG550 1992 is this Emerald Green?

Another question: The neck stamp says RG-550m whilst the body is stamped RG-550dx. Is this normal for a stock guitar? I have owned other RGs and the necks almost never have the same thing stamped on them as the body, as I recall. Not sure though so I'll ask the experts herein.
Thanks!

Yes, it's normal. The rg5xx series all have the same wizard necks, they are stamped rg550m (maple) or rg550r (rosewood) and the bodys have the model and finish abbreviation. Im not shure but i think DX means Delux.

OK Then if THAT's the case, then would that mean that the "G" stamped there in red on the body indicates "Laser Blue"? I would think that logically the G would indicate green. But again, I'm no expert. But thanks for that info. Perhaps the fact that it's a G is totally coincidental, having nothing whatsoever to do with the color of the guitar.(?)

Thanks for sharing this. Would you happen to have a picture of the neck pocket on the body where the model and color designation is?

The red stamps (G in the body and F in the neck) are ibanez inner codes that have nothing to do with colors or models.

e.g. This is the stamp of a '92 rg570gf trs (gravure flame, transparent red sunburst). As can be seen, the Y and the B have no relation with the suffixes mentioned above.

There's no green rg550dx only lazer blue (like yours) and purple neon.

Cool thanks!! I actually love the way the blue in the body has yellowed. Makes it look classy
