Well, first of all, is it an AANJ or square heel neck joint? AANJ would make it a 2000, and the square heel would be 1990. Secondly, when they switched the serial number designations in 1997, you can easily see that the F and the 2 year numerals are very close together, while the production number designation numerals are spaced farther apart. For example, if this guitar was a 2000, it would read F00 01070. Then, to make it even more confusing, somewhere around 2002 they changed that again so all the numerals are spaced evenly apart. However, those more modern ones have the little bowtie outline.
