RG550 Anniversary Prices

Hi, I'm new here. I just bought a New RG550 20th(Yellow)from this site. I know the guitars were sold for 899.00 when they were at stores, but I see some people advertise the Black ones for alot cheaper(679.00) is that normal???

Yes, the black are the least popular.

Depends on the dealer. There are areas where fruity guitars do not sell and the blacks sold for full retail.

Re: RG550 Anniversary Prices

So I assume the wholesale prices on the Black were cheaper than the Red and Yellow?

Yeah in 88 there were many fruits to choose from. Luckily I kept away from the big pink Hamer Stevens model even tho I loved his playing.

No offense, that's how they're seen in certain areas [like the South] where they are not selling as well.

Same goes for older JEMs. One pawn shop in a city I lived in had two SK's, BFP, FP etc.. BUT that was back in 93. **** has changed everything.

I live in the South and have never seen one here locally in the shops. I wish I did though. I'd love to play a reissue.

And I bet now wish you had bought them all -lol. I know I do.

As far as the RG20ths, it looks like prices are coming down a bit. Yes, on the bay the black ones pull the least $, but I've noticed the DYs and RFRs cooling off also. Just a couple weeks ago, a DY with a BIN of $1000 would be gone in a day. Now I just watched one w/ a $999 BIN go unsold and it's relisted for $899. Plus, there is one with a $859 BIN that has been up for two days, unheard of just a few weeks ago.

I guess I'm the exception.

The store that ordered mine would have never bought one for stock and I haven't seen any other 20ths anywhere in the area. They almost never stock anything with a trem or rarely any type of Prestige. I bought the last three Prestige axes they have had in my local shop over the past few years.

I'm keeping my RFR and BLK but selling my DY to offset other GAS attacks (RGT3020) and major truck repairs that I just incurred
