rg550 Burnt stained _______ (fill in the blank)

I am considering burning and staining my rg550. I have seen the tutorial on projectguitar.com, and was wondering if any of you people have an idea for a color that would look good with a burnt finish like the jem bsb and a black pickguard. I would then get some bobbin toppers and knobs to match. Any ideas? Also, by any off chance, does anybody know how much a heat gun would set me back (the type used for paint removal) Thanks.

I'd go for orange/brown. I've always loved the look of the original JEM 7RB.

You can get heat guns at Home Depot for $30. Probably less.

A bic lighter and a can of Aqua Net is about $3.

would the heat guns actually set the guitar on fire? I'm a little wary of this, as i don't want to permanently damage the guitar. I was thinking some sort of bright color stain, i have found some kids colors that are bright. Anyone know where to get fluorescent stains, something like lime green or hot pink? Thanks.

No..unless you keep it there for a long time...

the heat gun is the way to go..but if you are "brave" use the lic lighter

Just a thought, but I've been toying with the idea of using a heat gun and some kind of metal stencil to burn a design. No idea if it would work but it might look cool if it did Kind of a poor/talentless man's pyrography..
