RG550 plus DR NEON strings

I came back from a long vacation back home to Montreal earlier last week, and before I could sit down and play my RG, I noticed the high e string was broken. It broke quite randomly, but since i had recently slapped strings on it, I was just going to buy a new pack and install the e string only.

I headed to the music store to purchase a set of strings. I play DR strings exclusively for their longevity and I quite like their feel. I was going to pick the black beauties like I always do and then the most disturbingly brightly colored pink packaging caught my eye.

Well, you can guess what happened after. Here's a few pictures. By the way, No homo. LOL

Anyone else put some of these on? I put a green set on my tobacco burst Fender Strat (not a good idea, but It was all i had left at the time).

I've had the green ones on my RFR RG20th. They look awesome, but unfortunately the coating doesn't last long.

They look cool, but they dont last at all and they sound like crap after a week or two.

I was just about to ask how long the color lasts.

I'm surprised they haven't made black strings yet for the BRVTAL metal crowd.

They got black coating too.

All the coated strings I have tried got a muffled sound, me no like. But they look good, and as we know - it's all about looking cool!

Bright green ones came on my Anny S. At first I thought they looked cool but I actually found them distracting play so I reverted back to my faves: Elixirs.

Distracting to play? The trick is to not look at the fretboard when you're playing :P.

I've got the same experience: after a week the E and A strings sounded like rubber bands.
