RG570 Matt finish

I have an RG570RBF which i believe is a UK varient not so common in the USA

anyways it has a matt deep blue finish..problem is..its getting polished ..just around the vol control and across the top..it seems that playing is causing certain areas to buff up to a mirror like finish..now i really like the matt finish is there anything i can do to keep it matt..or will i have to resort to polishing the whole guitar.

anyone else have the same problem ?

I have an 570EX with the "matte-ish" silver color. It is going shiny in a few places as well, as much as I try to avoid it. Impossible I think.

Any guitar that gets used will end up looking used, so may as well live with it.

Or you can have it refinished every so often, which I would find rather crazy

Ahh yes 570EX ..same guitar ..mine is the deep blue finish..model number was 570EXRBF !!!

I think your right I'll just live with it..i think it was perticularly noticable last night i was playing directly beneath some halogen lights and it was really noticable..however it doesn't affect my playing so who cares !!!

Hey Rich,

Is yours still stock (v7,s1,v?

How do you like the tone? I find it a little "thin" (its difficult to dscribe sound). I've been looking for a mahogany body to check out differences.

Cheers

Hey Ibateur,

I love the tone of RGs , i learned to play on a basswood Floyd loaded guitar (1986 Kramer Baretta) and after going through a number of different guitars have ended up back at where i started. I like the "livelyness" and the way it reacts to heavy distortion..not dark ..bright yes ..but "lively"

I have however changed the stocks to Paf Pros...but left the single coil as standard ..levels match well and i like the clean tone in the out of phase positions ..the Paf pros are very similar ..just with a bit more flavour a bit more tightness ..great pickups i really like, and have allways liked the Michael Schenker vibe to those pickups .bit like a crybaby pushing the mids a touch !! also they cover a lot of ground... great for any style(especially my hack like approach )

I had my RG resprayed in a matte grey, and it's starting to shine up in places, but I quite like the effect...
