Question RG570 natural?

I was looking through our local Craiglist and found this... A natural RG570?

I did the hour+ drive to check it out and it has the Super Wizard neck with the bubinga stripe, original edge trem, V7 & V8 pickups. It was very dirty and most of the hardware was dull and grimy.. In the shape it's in, it's not worth the $450 the owner of the pawn shop want for it.

I can't see there was ever a factory made natural finish, I'm thinking re-finish.

Re: RG570 natural?

There have been several rg570-a-likes in natural finish, the 547 and 548 spring to mind high were both ash bodied. There was even a mahogany 570, but yes this one looks like a refinished basswood to me (on an iPad).

Value depends on condition and whether you like the "nuno" vibe.

Re: RG570 natural?

I agree, probably a refin. Still, if it looks as good as it does in the pictures, I'd be OK with $450 asking price. I'd try to get it for $400- $450 out the door though..... let the shop pay the tax on it.

Re: RG570 natural?

Was it worth putting the effort/money into? How cheap do you think you can get it?
I have to admit........that's about the nicest looking basswood body I've seen. WAYY better than all of my old RG7xx bodies.

Re: RG570 natural?

the body and neck look good, lots of grime between the fret and around the pick ups. All the knobs and tuners and pretty tarnished.... I think I'm gonna go back in a coupe weeks, see if it's still there and see what he'll take for it... I was thinking in the $250 range

more to follow...
