RG570 with Shark fin inlays?

Just bought an older Ibby with shark fin inlays off the Bay. Neck is marked on back with an RG570 sticker. Odd thing is it's bound and has shark fin inlays. I haven't got it yet, I'll post pics when it comes in. Just thought it was odd. Liked the way it looked and thinking it would be a nice swirl candidate. Anyone seen a 570 with shark fins?

Oddball rarity or Japanese only market? I can't find any info on one.

I think it's more likely special run model.

No, there are a bunch of them out there, I've had a few myself. Likely a late '89 - early '90 before they were 770s. In the past Ibanez has had a few guitars where they changed the name before they changed the features (like the 2619 to AR300) or changed the features before the name, like this one.

I've got a 570EX in "Cyber Pink" - or Silver to anyone else! That has copper coloured sharkfin inlays. It's a 2002, so I think there have been a few with sharkfins over the years.

Re: RG570 with Shark fin inlays?

If it's AANJ (can't tell from the pics), it's probably a 2000 570ex. I had one in RM (rootbeer metallic)

If it's square heel, I would be tempted to believe it's a (year?) JB body and a '90 760 JB neck.

Either way, it's an awesome looking guitar that Ibanez SHOULD have done all those years ago. Nice score bilbo!!

Re: RG570 with Shark fin inlays?

Just came in today. Was actually set up pretty well. Need to put new strings on it, oil the board and give it a good cleaning. Overall the guitar is pretty good shape considering it's age. Think it may get a monkey grip and shipped to Herc for a swirl. LOL

Thanks for all the info guys. I appreciate it. Any suggestions for pickups? I've got Evolutions in my other RG's, I'm kinda curious about the Petrucci Crunchlab and Liquifire set. Any thoughts?

If you want something that goes beyond the Evos, get Carvin M22SD and M22V.

If you want dimarzio and want something a little less output, the AT-1 is my favorite dimarzio bridge pup. I have evos and Gravity storms, but the AT-1 is just AMAZING.
