alright. I have been playing 7 strings for a while now. and i have a S7420FM and a J custom RG8527VV. I have a friend who wants to buy one. but definitely doesn't want to dish out the $1000+ for a seven string like i have. He's looking at the RG7321. I've never played one. Just wondering if you guys have played ones and think they are a worthy guitar for a semi-beginner 7 string player. we found a place that has them new for about $375 with a case. thanks

If its the first 7 string this guy is getting, the RG 7321 should be okay. I'd also look around for a used 7621 or 7420, both of which were made in Japan. I would also look at the AX7221 or the 7521.

A 7620 would be too much for a first 7 string, imo, because trems are a pita.

i just talked to him again.. and he wants one with a stop tailpiece.. he's been playing only about a year and never uses the trem. so what models are out there with a stop... the RG7321 is the only one new.. what about good used ones with stops? haha .. he's kinda stubborn and won't pay a whole lot. I mean.. my first one was a s7420 for 900 bucks.. and then i bought the j custom for about 1500. i think he doesn't want to spend much more than 400 with a case. i know.. it doesn't give a whole lot to work with. thank you guys for your info.
