RG7321

O.K. I admit I was a 7 string snob.....I thought if I can't do it on a six string then it doesn't need to be done..... I was guilty of judging before playing. But I tried a RG7321 today and it opened up a whole new sound. I am seriously thinking about getting a 7 string now. I was saving up for a RG3550MZ, but I might change my mine now.

Re: RG7321

Join the 7-side. Once you get that low B, you don't want to give it up. Seriously, just that one string can be either ridiculously warm and beautiful, or ridiculously dark and satanic, depending on how you use it.

If it can't be done on a six, maybe that tells you the 7 is calling...lol. Opens a whole lot of doors for creativity. Hope to see you join us on the other side. It beckons you...(spoke in a dark epic voice with lots of reverb).

Re: RG7321

Don't go for RG7321, try used RG7620 or something better.

Re: RG7321

I've been told the Schecter 7's are good too. You might want to try them.

Why? Because they listed for more when new? If you travel over to the specs on the jemsite homepage, you will find they are all made of the same wood, same hardware, same guts (minus pickup updates). There are so little dfferences between, most would be hard pressed to spot the differences, especially between the 421 and 321. They are close siblings from diff. locales locales in the world. Thats really all the difference is. There's not much wrong with any of them especially if you have a budget. If the Korean tag bothers anybody, Ibanez usually has an overall good eye for tolerances. Just judge for yourself, I'm sure there are a lot of used and NOS of all models floating around out there to try. The market did indeed get flooded there for a bit.

Re: RG7321

i have the 7621,7421, and 7321. they all 3 have different bridges and pups. the 7321 nack is alot different feeling than the 74, and 76. also made out of walnut and maple (5 piece) so there are alot of differences in the 76,74, and 7321. they are all very nice but if you can find a used 76 or 74 i would try and get them before the 7321. hope this helps!

I agree, both are much better than the 7321. Feel and sound wise.

No, because many people find the 7321 and 7621 to be at the opposite ends of the playability of Ibanez RG7s, and 7621s and 7421s can be found for about the same price as 7321s with pickup upgrades or even without, they are still better for the money. It's not just MII MIJ snobbery, there is an obvious difference of quality.

That's weird, I wasn't thinking that but I noticed that is the thoughts I was looking for when I was playing my RG7321 tonight. Perfect description.

Re: RG7321

First time I played a 7 string was the same guitar. I loved the 7321 at first, so I bought it, then I started to hate it when I got a hold of a Schecter C7 Hellraiser, and dogged on Ibanez until I played an MIJ Ibanez 7 string, then fell back in love with Ibanez. The difference is like night and day between a 7321, and a 762*/742*, I suggest you stay away from buying a 7321. Lol

I have a RG7620 in Royal Blue for sale if interested by the way.

Re: RG7321

Do it man. I had a 7321 before with blazes and it really sounded great.
