Hey guys any one else love the 7620 too? I just recently bought one, and it is fantastic! I've been trying out a lot of 7 strings, but they felt to awkward for me. With the 7620 it feels so natural almost like I'm playing one of my 6 strings. Plus I now love the lo pro edge, and the stock pups are pretty hot too!

Strange story...... I have one now too. I bought one for my son about 5 years ago for $175. It was in poor cosmetic condition but in excellent mechanical shape. Earlier this year I bought a new RG752 from Rich. My son came over with his 7620 for "a little work". He needed new frets and a general refreshing of the neck plus it needs a new paint job and electronics. I felt so bad for him that I stupidly traded my mint 752 for his unplayable 7620......... I think he was baiting me the whole time....LOL

Anyway, the 7620 is a GREAT guitar that, when in decent shape, can play right alongside any UV. This one is coming along nicely (if not slowly). I'm looking forward to finishing it so I can have a good 7-stringer again.

On the other hand- the 752 is twice the guitar the 7620 is....... I think I need another one..........RICH??

Forgot to mention.....hang on to those pups. They're DiMarzio made and getting harder to locate every day.

I definitely will have to hang on to them I pop them out, but as of now I like them quite a bit. Best of luck with the refinish man, what color was yours? Mine is the magenta finish.

The RG7620 is the best bang for the buck when it comes to 7 strings.

I wanted a UV back in the late 90s but Ibanez had stopped making the PWH and the Green dot and all the other cool UVs.

All of the sudden the RG7620 came out; I bought one the first year they made them.
I loved the hell out of that guitar, I still have it.

Then the next year the UV777BK came out; I was pissed.
So I had to buy that too.
They feel very similar to me.

But then I got my hands on a used UV77GR and a PWH, they blow the RG7620s away!
Old early 90s UVs are my favorite 7s.

As I have never had either, what makes the UV's edge out the 7620?

best 7 strings made for under 1000 (entry to high mid-range/low hi-end). actually i think theyre better than UVs, even the uv777bk. if i knew what know now, id have bought two guitars instead of wasting time and money for so many years: 7620 for practice, jamming, travel, and beat em up purposes, and EBMM Majesty 7 or XI 7 for recording/classy venues

i have so many floyd guitars that i wanted a hardtail for ease of stringing and maintenance, i bought a 7421, which has the 7620 neck, and i love that guitar as much, if not more atm because with lace alumitones its so light and comfy to hold.

of course, what i said applies to the first runs from fujiyen, otherwise they arent anything special

nothing at all dude, same guitar nearly with different aesthetics, though the 7620 j craft necks are better imo

For the price I think they might be the best 7 string Ibanez has out. I like all the universe guitars out, but I'm to poor to afford one

My first 7 string was a 7620VK, I loved that guitar when I first got it, wish I still had it.
