RG7620 Pickup replacement

Hey all. I owe my friend some money, so Im revamping his neglected 7620. Looking for advice on pickups. Hes not very good, and has no idea from one sound to the next, but I dont want to put crap pickups in it.

Im just looking for a sound he can work with thats not super hot. I thought of actives but dont like the Blackouts and dont want to route for EMG's. Maybe the CL/LF combo? Im thinking of adding a pickguard to it too..

Re: RG7620 Pickup replacement

Thanks dude. I thought about posting this in pickups, but wasnt sure because I was hoping to hear from other 7620 owners who may shed some light. Way too many damn parameters. Especially for a guitar I dont own. Its just nice to hear peoples thoughts.

...and you'll get a bunch of thoughts from people with different tastes. That's why Ryc spent some time to put that thread together--help us help you. For thoughts, you can always use the search feature, too--you'll see opinions already posted on this.
