Hello everyone!
I currently own an RG350, that has served me well for 2 years, and now I want to enter the world of the 7 strings hahaha

I was searching for something that wasnt really cheap, but not too expensive either.
I live in Portugal, so I was thinking of buying from MusicStore, or Dv247, I still don't know.
MS prices:

RGA7: 580€
LTD: 700€

Seeing that the LTD has a neck thru construction, EMG Pickups, and grover tuners, is it worth it over the RGA?
I am used to the Wizard II neck, so, maybe on the long run, buying the RGA and upgrading the pickups and tuners would be a good choice, right?

Still, the LTD is neck thru, and that is a plus for me...

I found a portuguese store that sells both guitars:

I think the neck thru, EMG, grover tuners and earvana nut are worth the extra 175€, right?

I don't like the necks on any of the newer Ibanez Indonesian 7s, they're too square for my tastes, so if it was me I'd try the LTD. I also don't like actives, so I'd be swapping the pickups in either guitar so that's a wash.

Thank you for your reply!
The only 7 string I played with was a Schecter Damien 7, I liked it, but I find my RG350 neck "better".
I don't have any possibilities to try those guitars here... So I will have to guide myself from people's opinions...

I might go with the LTD, seeing that it has superior specs...

The Schecter necks tend to be thick and round, as opposed to Ibanez's thinner neck.

I think since you can't really try them, buy from an online retailer with a good return policy so you can send it back if you really don't get along with it.

I tried the RGA-7 in a music store. I dont really know, what to think about it. The setup was bad and the seller threw me a ****ty marshall combo with all kind of digital effect built in it. It sounded bad on that piece of ****. I really want to give it a try again with good setup and my ENGL in the background.. The pickups are actually not bad, i think they would sound quite good with my amp and cabinet and the EQ boost is working too! And of course the mahogany body and maple neck combination does it for me always!
Anyway! If you are still looking for a 7 stringer, i have an offer for you, that is better than the RGA or the LTD MH417. I have actually an SC-607 for sale, its the signature model of Stephen Carpenter Deftones guitarist. Alder body, neckthrough, locking bridge and tuners, nice smooth and fast neck, EMG 81-7 pickups, etc. The condition is near mint, no scratches or dings, whatsoever. IŽll ask around 650€, let me know, if you are interested!
Comes in Gator case!
