RGD 7421

Hi All,

I'm just curious about your experience with this axe. I own one, pretty solid, i like it. But have any of you owners made some upgrades? love to hear your choices about pickups. cheers

Re: RGD 7421

I've got one. I really don't know how I feel about it. I know I like my RGD2127Z way more.

I threw some BKP Aftermaths in mine and it sounds absolutely killer for the most part, but it doesn't have as much oomph as I'd like. That and I just dont love the neck profile.

Also...is this a problem for you when sliding down the fretboard? Whenever I slide to open my hand hits the corner of the treble side of the nut and it has a REALLY sharp corner. I always have a mark on my hand after playing that guitar.

Re: RGD 7421

I have one, I guess I am quite lucky, as the fretwork on mine is great, and the neck feels good. Of course, the RGD2127Z I owned was ''better'' but this could be something you could do yourself with a bit of super fine sandpaper, and a bit of was/oil if it was that much of a bother to you. You ARE however bound to have to replace the stock pickups, and the pot, for they are not of great quality. Other then that you will have a great canvas to build your own guitar upon.

Re: RGD 7421

I think a 7421 is a good stepping stone into the Universe of the 7 string but I would highly recommend you get a 1527 Prestige as it is an amazing guitar with smooth fretwork and a great neck profile and all round construction only found on a Prestige guitar. That or one of the Universe models and you'll be crying tears of joy
