Question Roadstar series

Anybody still playing these? I know they're not routed for a Floyd, but a friend had one back in the 80's and it played like a dream. More of a "Strat" than a "Super Strat", but I was wondering if anybody still was using these. Maybe a nice cheap Strat for recording. I was thinking of buying one, and maybe an old Ibanez Tele copy to replace my POS Samick tele copy with the nonfunctional truss rod. Opinions?

Re: Roadstar series

A friend of mine has a white pearl one with a black pickguard, it's nice, I love the way it plays.

Re: Roadstar series

Thanks for that. They seem to be a bargain for what they are.

Re: Roadstar series

on the right,

it's cool, but it doesn't stay in tune very well (saddle hinges are sticking).

colour is ok

not sure I can deal with one pickup

fret 12 is way more worn down than other frets. serious buzzing needs to be remedied.

That's cool. I was looking at this on yabe item 7423490247 and thought the hard tail would probably stay in tune, and allow alternate tunings. Maybe some new pups.

Talking Re: Roadstar series

I have an RG410 (Roadstar II) that I purchased new in 1986. This guitar plays amazingly well. The neck is almost identical to the JS1000. I replaced the pickup with an EMG 81 when I purchased it. It stays in tune very well.

Re: Roadstar series

My buddy form the '80's had the action so low on his that I thought he was playing .008's! I'm slowly talking myself into one or two of these. I appreciate everyone's input.

Re: Roadstar series

I played a lot of them back in the 80's. Friends owned them, plus I was always hanging out in my local music store. I have to say, they played like crap.
