RS 1010 Steve Lukather 1983- TREMOLO

Gīday,

I need some assistance regarding the replacement of the tremolo system of my Steve Lukather RS 1010

Put a lot of work and dough in it after buying it in a real bad condition. Now itīs time for a new trem system.
I donīt really need the original vintage replacement. I just need some advice for a proper replacement system (Kahler, FR, whatever...!)

Thanks for your ideas!!!

Marco

Re: RS 1010 Steve Lukather 1983- TREMOLO

If I'm not mistaken that's a Pro Rock'r tremolo. Some RS1010SLs were also equipped with Hard Rocker Pros, but that looks somewhat different (They do like to use the word 'Pro' in their tremolo names btw).

I've no personal experience with this tremolo, but there's already a bunch of information available about (replacing) this tremolo, also on the Ibanez Collectors World website.

I think that the Hard Rock Pro has the same dimensions of a Pro Rock'r and from what I know swapping a Pro Rock'r without routing is impossible.
You can try to take a look here on Jemsite, there's a lot of threads about swapping a Pro Rock'r.
