Re: Rusty Cooley Model on the way

I saw a vid of Rusty demonstrating this and he described it as a guitar that "stays out of your way when you play." Haha, I'm guessing that's a good thing. It looks kinda like H.R. Giger paint job. I'm intrigued. Review this axe once you get it.

Thumbs up Re: Rusty Cooley Model on the way

I will post my thoughts on the guitar when I get it. I have a 06 UV777BK universe so I can post a non biased review.

Re: Rusty Cooley Model on the way

Make sure to put details of neck, Rusty/Dean says it is the thinnest in the world, those are big claims.

I wish you could get it in that red colour like the one he actually has.

I actually like the graphic since I am a sci fi nut. LOL I supposed to represent a buried space ship or something.

I have to agree I don't like the price. He has a cheaper import coming out this week with all the same features but no graphic.

And I noticed Dean is releasing the DC6F, a 6-string guitar which looks pretty much identical to Rusty's 7-string but in plain black. It's under the Rusty Cooley section of Dean's website, but the model number doesn't reference Rusty... unless he has an alter ego named Dusty Cooley.

And here's the import 7-string.

Re: Rusty Cooley Model on the way

I dunno, that tilted pickup puts me off. I know why it's like that, but still, cosmetically it's just not my cup of tea. And it doesn't have to be because I don't have the same problem when doing large stretches.

Other wise the one Neo got (is this the matrix?) is cool I dig the sci-fi stuff.

Re: Rusty Cooley Model on the way

Please post pics of the neck! I really want to see how thin the neck really is. Like maybe next to a UV or 7620. I heard its not much thicker than a Bic Pen!

I don't like the tilted pickup either but to untilt it you would have to have a smaller cutaway which would probably be more of a turnoff than a small appearance flaw.
