S series?...Saber? - made in Japan, 1992 model.

Ok, I was looking in a small pawn shop a while ago, and I saw a guitar that didn't look familiar to me. *Im not too familiar with early 90's Ibanezes. *Basically, it had a really round body that looked almost identical to a JS. *It had an s-s-h configuration, and it had a vintage style fulcrum trem instead of an edge or lo pro. *It was a '92 so regardless of model no aanj. *Anyone have an idea what it was? *It didn't have any model identifiers or model names on it. *Oh yes, it was a red transparent finish, and it had a maple board on it. *It was in really good condition, they wanted like $325 for it. *

Yep, sounds like a Radius to me. *They ARE identical in shape to JSs (I think).

Actually, they varied a bit; my current main Radius (88 H-S-S Jewel Blue) is closer to a JS I had than it is to 2 burst Radiuses (a 91 and an 87). *No cigar perhaps, but close enough for rock n' roll... ;-)

Hey, How heavy is that alder vs. the basswood ones? *Rich, you have experience here? *That may be a future custom build for me...love that alder "spank".

Alder isn't *that* much heavier than basswood, but I've never had a 442, not a model I deal in.
