S Series Value?
Hey guys. I have a 1992 Ibanez S series I would like to get some ideas on the value of it. I am confused on whether it is the S540 or the 540S. It is black with H S H pickup configuration and says custom made on the 21 fret. It is near mint condition with the original case. I was thinking of sanding off the finish because I really liked the natural wood color of the guitar but I was told not to because it is collectable. Is this true and what is the approximate value for this? All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Don't sand it if it's mint! There are plenty of beaters out there.

Does it have a square heel neck joint or AANJ?

Probably $400-500.

It's an AANJ. I took the back plate off and there was a small piece by the screw where the paint chipped off and I just about grabbed the sander right there because the bare mahogany looked so nice! I'm trying to find a beater to sand down because it's a great guitar but I can't find one.
