Question S1625 vs S2075

Own a new S470 and buying another Ibanez, either a S1625FBNT (natural Bubinga) or a S2075FW (honey burl)......

I can get either at the same price, I think that the 1625 was made in Japan & the 2075 Korea...don't know if that is a big deal or not...

I know 3 pickup vs 2 pickup (no single), should not matter to me.....I just want something of an upscale that I can play here & there...

Which would you go with?

Re: S1625 vs S2075

Anyone out there have a S1625 or have had one. Let me know how you like it....any known problems...how is the workmanship

The S2075 is rather new, not many have been sold....I have read a couple of reviews

No dealer near to look at either of these, I only have pictures & specs to go with...

Re: S1625 vs S2075

I use an S1625 in my band, and our other guitarist uses a new S2075. I've compared them and the craftsmanship is very similar... the main difference I noted was that the S1625 has a Wizard neck and the 2075 has a Wizard II. The stock pickups on both guitars are pretty bad I think.. mine has QMs and his has Dimarzio/IBZ INF pickups (I believe). I usually swap out stock pickups in any guitar I get anyway. Both guitars are great, it's mostly just a matter of what kind of neck you like.

The S2075 comes with Dimarzio/Ibzs, which are made in the USA (they are not INFS whatsoever). And I don't think that the Ibzs are bad at all (same goes for the QM). I've tried the Ibzs and I really like the sound.

Ah, I knew I was wrong.

The Wizard is a bit more thin. I prefer it to the Wizard II, personally.

Thanks to everyone for their info....

I have decided to buy a new S1625, if I can find one, as they are discontinued, I will search and see what I can find.

Thanks again for your input....

Good luck, it's a sweet guitar. Mine was on clearance because it isn't in production anymore and I picked it up for $719 brand new. Pretty good deal if you ask me...
