Exclamation S470 or RG350 or RGT42

I'm going to get another guitar and the three above are within my price range of $400-$500. I need all your help for making the right decison out of these guitars. I play mostly metal, and a little blues. I like the H-S-H setup the most for its versatility, although I don't mind H-H. I'm leaning towards the S470, because of its tone versatility, so any idea what suits me best? Thanks in advance!

Re: S470 or RG350 or RGT42

Well, if you like 24 frets, I'd say go with the 350 if you like HSH or the RGT42 for HH. Plus, the RGT42 is neck-thru, and the binding looks real nice. Both the RGT and the S are made of mahogany now, so it's really up to you. THe RG350 is made of basswood. It's up to you. I'm just givin' ya some input and background on each guitar.

Re: S470 or RG350 or RGT42

Thanks for the info. I am also considering the RG350DX which does have the 24 fret Wizard II neck, H-S-H pickup combo, Edge Pro II Trem.! I believe it will fit my playing the best. One last question I have is, does anyone know where I can hear this guitar? I will go to Guitar Center and see if they have it to play if no clips are found. Thanks again!

Are you sure its an Edge Pro II on the 350? Because the 2005 models come with Edge IIIs. Why don't you go and try out all three of them? That way you can choose which one you like better.

Trying out a guitar personally is the best way to tell if you like it or not. Hell, I used to be a fan of Evos .

Get the S470 if you are interested in having a ball-bearing tremolo .

Used RG5xx-7xx series is the only way to go. For the money you're wanting to spend, you can get a clean used one with Dimarzios already in it. It'll be 10 times the guitar as any of those Korean models. --Jason

Re: S470 or RG350 or RGT42

The only problem with the current S lineup is that they are HEAVY with that new ZR trem. I thought the whole point of the S series was to be a light guitar, but they are anything but light. But like everyone else, I would say to get a used Prestige model for the same money and you'll be 10 times as happy.

Re: S470 or RG350 or RGT42

I'd definately go for the S470 (I have one myself so I'm kinda partial) because you then get a trem you could drive over with a car and it would still be in tune Ball bearing tremolos is da shiit. And I definately don't think my S is heavy, I haven't tried the older ones so I lack anything to compare with though. Get the S is my advise.
