Saber Restoration

Found this MIJ S470SOL for absolutely dirt cheap... that said, there was a reason it was dirt cheap! It was absolutely beat to hell, I will let pictures do some talking.

Lots of fret wear, the oil finish wore off in many places, and looked like it had been dropped a few times!

Re: Saber Restoration

I ended up sanding back the whole thing to get it smooth again, used an oil based stain to get the look right ,and then clear coated with spray max 2k matte finish on both the body and the neck.

Frets were leveled and polished. I rounded the fretboard edges for a super comfy feel and divots in the back of the neck were repaired using a steam out method. As the rosewood was pretty boring (1 color, no interesting grain), I died it black using an analine dye to "Ebonize" it. Looks pretty classy and nice.

Thank you sir.

I was hoping for more "Stock" color personally, but the reddish flavor is definitely nice though.

Re: Saber Restoration

Nice restoration mate, love the wood finish and dark fingerboard combo. What colour hardware/pickups are you gonna go with?

Rock on!

300$ trem and I cant freaking find it haha!

Um, the V1/V2 combo sounded fine for this guitar, not looking to spend a whole bunch of money on this one honestly, just keeping it stock for now.
