Sabre id?

Hi guys i have a ibanez s which has the serial number F347550. I cant match it up in the catalog to anything. I know for a fact i am the second owner but i was just curious as to why it originally had a trs and not a edge like the other 93 models in the catalog?? It also didn't have the s series on the headstock just ibanez.

The guitar has since been modified some what so the picture wont really tell much but anyway

I cant exactly remember what tremolo it had but it did have made in Japan TAKEUCHI on the block. Here is a old picture found before the gotoh was installed.

No biggy, I was able to tell by the paint in the output jack and the switch cover. Those are usually not painted.

For id purposes, there SHOULD be a stamp in the neck heel that says "s470" or something like that. The TRS bridge is actually REALLY REALLY good. The korean made "Lo-TRS 2" is the crappy one. The TRS 101 and Lo-trs are top notch gotoh made floyds.

edit: really really odd that it doesnt say S on the headstock. Im refinishing a 1993 s470 myself and mine definitely has S on the headstock! O.o

Thanks man. Any idea why it doesnt match up in the catalog?

I dont recall if there was a stamp in the neck pocket, It is since been covered with over spray so i cant really look unless i sand it back.

I saw that in a thread here? when i sanded the body back it looked 100% identical to that wood. It was sold in australia so maybe there where some alterations for our market. I have no doubt its a mij s the build quality is second to none.

99% of all sabers are mahogany, whether MIK or MIJ. A couple oddballs out there, but for the most part all are the same.

that 2nd pic I posted matches up haha.

I think your neck is overstock from early 93 models. I know they did that in the 90s at least.
