Saracola guitars....anyone?

I was at the local GC the other day and saw guitar by the name of Saracola. It was a one peice tung oiled mahog tele styled body. But it had a gibson stop tail, one SDhum(bridge), and a mystery single coil(neck). Looked kinda like a Carvin Holdsworth....except the headstock was SUPER 80's. A looking thing. It was way past cheesey and straight into the "cool" genre just for looking so...well...80's! Maybe my sense of style(and humor) is preverted, but I loved it. The neck played exactly like an old charvel...same size, contours etc. Sounds great too(gotta love mahog).

Does anyone have any information on who or what Saracola is? Is it an old company, like ? Ibanez would be and is today? or was it a parts outfit like Warmouth? Handmade? CNC?

I can not find diddly on Saracola. No reveiws/information about them anywhere on the entire information super highway, so I ask you for help.

Id like to go pick it up today or tomorrow regardless, but I like to have all of the information before a purchase just because Im like that...?

Anyone here own one or have any info? Guys/few girls?

Saracola used to be in Chicago, and made some highend custom stuff for people like the guys from Warrant and Dennis Rodman (yes the basketball player).

He moved to LV I think and doesn't really do guitars anymore.

Ok, here is the deal. I could not find any info on these guitars because I was spelling the name wrong(thatll do it for ya!). Sarricola is the name and I picked it up yesterday. I must say it is quite the score! One peice walnut body(not mahog as I thought), maple neck w/ebony fretboard, SD JB hum, and a custom single coil. Obviously, GC had no idea what this thing was!!! I asked the sales guy and he had no idea...suprise.

I found a reveiw on harmony central for the same guitar and the owner paid $1300 direct from Bill Sarricola. GC had it for 499 and I hornswaggled to 399 w/ a pack of strings. I dont have the means to get/post a picture but ill try to find a way.

I am going to find out today if Bill Sarricola is still making guitars. I found a phone # so its worth a try. If not...A friend told me that his guitar teacher used to be endorsed by Sarricola way back in the day so maybe ill talk to him(Dave Shankle, ex-Manowar, now Dave Shankle Group).

Re: Saracola guitars....anyone?

Its now 2011. Bill Sarricola has a My Space page. I have a Sarricola with a bolt on neck. Ive loved this guitar since about 93. It refuses to go out of tune and I play with the finesse of a fish floppin on the floor of yer boat. LOL seriously his quality is incredible, he is known in Hard Rock circles for hand building a screaming chunk of exotic wood hand picked for tone. Hes a wiring genius and a Master luthier. I dont know if he is building but when I last talked to him in about 2007 he was considering it again . I know Bill from the Motorcycle business, Last I knew he is the Sales Manager at Liepolds Honda Motor Sales in Ottawa Illinois. A nice guy with serious guitar building skills.
