A Scary New Aquisition

I fell into a cool opportunity recently and really had to pull the trigger -
This is a 1967 Telecaster.

What makes it cool is that it's sort of famous. It's one of 4 "top-favored" guitars of a well-known guitar virtuoso and it's toured and been played all over the world. I have cool documentation stuff from "the owner" that came with it, and it's been featured in Vintage Guitar magazine.
It's the one on the far right:

Thought I'd share with my Jem-Brethern.

Vintage Tele's are cool. Custom colour vintage Teles are even cooler. Custom colour vintage Tele's owned by Mr Scary are even cooler still

Re: A Scary New Aquisition

Hey man, that's just...
I also used to own a '67 Tele - owned by a pretty well-known guitarist, too. It was pretty heavily modded - body and neck were re-done to imitate George Harrison's all-rosewood Tele!
Plus, it had a '55 bridge pup...
...but congratulations and thanks for sharing! It's always a pleasure too see good wood !

Re: A Scary New Aquisition

Congrats!! Nice score!

I have a friend locally that brokers guitars (sold one to Lenny Kravitz for $15k not long ago) and he handed me a 196? Tele that was near mint with all the original parts, case and papers that has a book value of $35k. I can only imagine what you invested in this one.
