Re: Schecter Banshee Elite
The neck joint/carve appears to be very similar to what I have on my Schecter JL-7 FR (Loomis w/ a Floyd). I said similar - my Loomis is a set-neck (glued joint) and the Banshee Elite is neck-through. The carve on my Loomis is the most comfortable of any of my 13 guitars (Ibanez, Fender, Jackson, Kramer) and is so comfy when I get to the 24th fret.
Later this year I plan to get the 7 string Banshee Elite with the Floyd and the Sustainer. Based on my experience w/my Loomis, I have no doubt it will be a great guitar.
The Hipshot looks very comfortable for resting my palm on (that's how I normally play). I don't have any actual experience - just my imagination.
I would think the Elite would cover a very wide range of styles, esp. w/the Sustainer - that's my reason for wanting to get one. Plus I love the look of it.
My Loomis is built like a tank. The neck carve is VERY comfortable. The only other 7 string I have is a Universe, which also has a very comfy neck, but the two are very different. The Universe is more D-shaped, with obvious shoulders. The Loomis is a flat C-shape. They're both great, but different. I believe the Elite will have the same type of neck shape as the Loomis has.
So my opinion is get it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
