Schecter Banshee Elite

Anyone who has any experience with Schecter and similar models to the Banshee Elite.

They look incredible, and I'd very much like to own one:

More info: http://www.schecterguitars.com/inter...elite-6-detail

They come in 6, 7 and 8 string versions and also the choice of either a Floyd Rose or a Hipshot bridge. Also in the mix is a sustainer for the neck pickup. I think I'd go for the 6 or 7-string version with all passive pickups and the flamed natural top.

Also, it's a neck-through, and the joint looks freaking incredible, but I cannot seem to get any pics of it. There is a video from Andertons at NAMM showcasing it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHV9dy6c4Uc (Around the min 4 mark you can see the hardtail one, at minute 3 the FR and sustainer edition)

Edit: Found pic of the back of another model:

Edit 2: Here is the back of the hardtail screencapped from the video above:

Re: Schecter Banshee Elite

I have worked on a few schecters with similar options. They are great guitars. The quality and workmanship are consistent. I'd really like to play this in a 7 or 8 string model.

What are your concerns, or what info are you looking to get ?

Re: Schecter Banshee Elite

Oh, just general information from people with knowledge on Schecter. I've never played one.
What typ of music does it do exceptionally well? Experiences with the Hipshot-bridge? Playability and so on...

Re: Schecter Banshee Elite

I've played a couple of Banshee 7's (fixed bridge). Both were well setup by the store. Both felt like MIJ Ibanez's (neck and playability wise).

I personally love the Hipshot bridge. Both of my custom guitars have Hipshots.

Re: Schecter Banshee Elite

The neck joint/carve appears to be very similar to what I have on my Schecter JL-7 FR (Loomis w/ a Floyd). I said similar - my Loomis is a set-neck (glued joint) and the Banshee Elite is neck-through. The carve on my Loomis is the most comfortable of any of my 13 guitars (Ibanez, Fender, Jackson, Kramer) and is so comfy when I get to the 24th fret.

Later this year I plan to get the 7 string Banshee Elite with the Floyd and the Sustainer. Based on my experience w/my Loomis, I have no doubt it will be a great guitar.

The Hipshot looks very comfortable for resting my palm on (that's how I normally play). I don't have any actual experience - just my imagination.

I would think the Elite would cover a very wide range of styles, esp. w/the Sustainer - that's my reason for wanting to get one. Plus I love the look of it.

My Loomis is built like a tank. The neck carve is VERY comfortable. The only other 7 string I have is a Universe, which also has a very comfy neck, but the two are very different. The Universe is more D-shaped, with obvious shoulders. The Loomis is a flat C-shape. They're both great, but different. I believe the Elite will have the same type of neck shape as the Loomis has.

So my opinion is get it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Re: Schecter Banshee Elite

Thanks all for the information regarding this (for me) unknown mystery of Schecter.

I've just placed an order for the 6-string, passive mic and hipshot bridge version of this beautiful guitar. Should be with me in about 2 weeks, hopefully I've gotten the RG655 sold by then :-)
