Schecter V7's - Anyone Own One

After playing a strat through a Cyber twin at the GC in New Orleans recently, I'm hooked back again on the single coil / Fender tone (my current favorite tone is my G&L Legacy through the Fender Champ model on my POD Pro). *Anyway, I'm interested in a HSS 7 string guitar and have been eyeing the Schecter V-7 as a possible alternative.

I know they're Korean made and the Floyd's are probably on the cheap side but does anyone own or has anyone played one? *I'm curious as to the general construction and single coil tones achievable.

Fwranks in advance,

Randy

rlintz:
I have played both of those exact guitars in your picture at Drum City. I played them early last year there. The green one was the better of the two. I also own a UV777GR and a 7420. I found both of them to be alright playing, but the pickups weren't hot enough for my tastes and also the neck joint is pretty thick and seemed obtrusive compared to the aanj on my 7420 and even the joint on my GR. I was most interested in the maple fingerboard on them because I love the one on my GR. The black dots were cheaply put on. The neck itself feels pretty nice, but I ended up buying a C-7+ from them for $50 bucks less. The ones pictured that I played are prototypes...... and the may be a worthy deal if they were priced under $325....

What are the going for now?

They're going for about $500 with a HS case. *The neck heel is a big concern as the AANJ on my 2027 is very comfortable and my Carvin DC747 is the utmost in high fret playability due to the neck-through design.

Did you play any of the other US Schecter 7's? *I know DCGL has quite a few and I believe they're discouting these also. *I think they've realized that if they don't discount heavily soon, they'll probably be sitting on these for some time...

Thanks again for the info,

Randy

$500 for them.... hmm.... they haven't discounted the price on those yet.

I agree with you. They should blow them out. It's sad, but true, that the value of the Schecters have depreciated terribly over the past couple of years. There are going for $200 on up on Ebay.

I didn't play the other US made schecter 7s there because they wanted alot for them and, at the time, I only had a budget of $500 for a new guitar.

I agree, if they start letting them go for $350-$400 I'll more than likely pick one of the maple board 7s.

The cool thing is Drum City Guitarland in Westminster, Colorado has got the coolest nicest staff. The dude there must have pulled out of boxes, set up, and let me play about 15 different C-7s before I found the one that felt and sounded the best.

I would buy from them again!!!
