Schecters?

What's the general consensus on these? Never have been able to lay hands on one.

Speaking of which, is it pretty much a moot point even asking about any of the Korean guitars? Maybe so since they're all made by either Cort or Samick and will have the same inconsistent but sometimes decent quality no matter what the brand name?

I've heard good things about them, and they seem to give almost ANYONE a sig model.

Two hands is right......if you pick up one, chances are you may get your own signature model in no time. lol (I belive Jerry Horton of Papa Roach was endorsed, as well as the guy from Crazy Town )

Really though, Schecter are not bad guitars at all. The C-1 Elite model has some very nice features and only costs around $600-$700!! Throw some new pickups in there and you have yourself a fine guitar. Not a PRS or a Jem quality, but not to bad at all.

I haven't heard too much about them, but I've played several of them, and I didn't really like em. Actually I hated them. A 7-string I tried was heavy and lousy as hell.

The USA models are excellent quality...nice playing/sounding guitars. I think it was the C-1 Elite that Guitarlos2 mentioned that I played not long ago...quilted maple, neck though, vine inlay...nice for the money! Korea has come a long way.

I agree the USA Schecters are fantastic guitars, don't forget Tom Anderson himself used to work for Schecter! The few Korean one's I've seen have seemed very similar to the LTD guitars I've tried. The fixed bridge ones are great, but I still have issues with the locking trem equipped guitars. BUT that's probably psychosomatic or something these days too

That's funny. I was going to buy a ESP ltd MH-307 but the guy at DrumcityGuitarland said they were out of them( discontinued ) and suggested that I buy a Schecter because they were built in the same factory and pretty much the same guitar.

Well...if that's what Jason said...I'd go with it. He told me the same thing awhile back. They're VERY comparable guitars. He's got tons of Schecters in the store...always has a bunch of the really cool custom shop ones too

Yep, It was Jason. I visit DrumcityGuitarland.com quit often just for the eye candy. They always get the cool guitars. I remember they use to have this really kick ass 7-string Schecter that was made out of something that resembled a flamed or curly Koa with 36 frets. With the last guitar I bought from Drumcity Guitarland they sent me a Schecter Custom catalog. Man, They do have some cool looking sh*t.

That would be the C-1 Classic. One of their classiest guitars! Can hardly beat it for the money!

What kind of necks do the Schecters have? Anything like the beloved Wizard?
