Scratchy noise pickup selector help

HI

I just recently got my pickups replaced for EMG's and i got a new pickup selector put in. I noticed that when i move the pickup selector from the brdge to midway it makes a scratcy noise. There have also been times when the sound cuts out for about 1/2 second. I was just wondering is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks

Re: Scratchy noise pickup selector help

Are you sure its a new switch? I would take it back to your tech and tell him to use a new one and not one that he had laying in a misc. parts bin for 10 years ....

hey
this is normal

i had my guitar replaced with emgs and gotoh 3 way selector
and i got those scratchy noise..went back to the tech, he say that its because taht the silicon spray had dried out inside the package, what he did is just sprayed abit of those spray and flick it few times to smooth it out then its all good.

I just got a brand new ltd m1000 (comes stock with 81s) and have the same trouble. going from mid to bridge is scratchy and sometimes cuts out for a sec! I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
