Searching for info on a Charvel

A second hand store in my area has had the same red Charvel for sale for aaaaages. It has an original chrome Floyd Rose, a Jackson humbucker at the bridge, a slanted Jackson single coil at the neck, and a single volume control. Does anybody know anything about this model? Is it particularly yummy? I've yet to actually play it, and don't think I'll buy it, I'm just curious.

It sounds like a Phil Collen model., but I am no expert on Jacksons.
Does it have 24 frets?

It's not that cool rounded-ish Phil Collen shape, it's a more soloist-y shape.

After some extensive googling, this is it. I'll have to check the inlays again at the store, I believe I was wrong about the sharkfins. They're after about $400 AUD. And now that I see the pic I remember that the 'single coil' is actually one of those single-sized humbuckers. It's funny how your memory distorts stuff. However I'm quite certain that the bridge humbucker has a black cover which says Jackson.

Charvel definately :-) It's the same as the Jackson 3DR , I'm not sure but i think it could be a Fusion? I know the avenger was the rhodes shape and the Spectrum had a plate a 3 s/coils

I love that era Charvel,I miss my 475 special like mad

Grab it if it's cheap,You can always flog it on to me

That there is a Charvel Fusion...circa 1990. I had the Fusion Custom (HSS) + a tone knob. Other than that, it's basically the same. Neck scale is 24.75 and it has a nice profile. Would think that AUD400 is about the going rate. Must admit, if it has sharkfin inlays then I wouldn't know what it was.

That was a great era for Charvel/Jackson. My 475 is still one of my favorite guitars ever even after 12 years, I would never sell it. I like the bolt-on sound better than neck thrus anyway personally, although I like the 25.5" scale of the 475 better than the Fusion since it doesn't have the traditional set neck and thick body of Gibsons to make up for the shorter scale length. I guess the Fusion could be an ultimate shred guitar for people with smaller hands though.

Any Jackson or Charvel Fusion is a great guitar! I had a Jackson Fusion USA Pro and it was just a killer shredder. The back of the neck was kind of grainy, so I got rid of it. I guess I should have just oiled it up real good!

That's a Fusion Deluxe pictured. It is bolt-on, correct? Does it have the scallop on the cutaway? Tootpaste or Guitar logo?
