Arrow - Sevenstring Registry Database Online

Greetings all,

I run, and have just implemented a brand new database feature that will track and catalog sevenstrings based on their serial number, make, model and year.

My goal is to have a single resource for back history of as many sevens as possible. The idea is to help the community out in the event of stolen guitars, questionable online auction trades, insurance claims, change of ownership and otherwise.

If you have time, please have a look at this thread that describes the entire idea:

This went live this morning, and is BRAND new. The listing and search interface is here:

The Sevenstring Registry

Due to the constraints of my forum software, you will have to register with us to add your gear. Registration takes five minutes, and once you've put your guitars in you're free to log out and never return. Your account will never be deactivated and your gear will stay in the database as long as continues to serve pages.

I hope this doesn't come off as spam. I've been a relatively active member of the community (Jemsite, HC, the JP forums) for some years now and while I'm not the most vocal guy outside of my own site, some of you know me and those that do (I hope) can vouch for me. I'm not trying to drum up traffic for my site, I run no paid adversiting, no adsense or pay-per-click banners.

My only aim here is to offer what I hope will build into a great resource for all sevenstring owners and players. If we prevent one stolen guitar or one fraudulent auction sale, then any time spent by any of us is, in my opinion, well worth it. I realize that there are a few sites out there doing something similar (, for one) but as far as I know mine is the only one that's seven-specific and open to any make.

I'm open to suggestions, comments and any ideas on ways to improve it, so please if you have five minutes and own a seven, swing on over and add your gear to the registry.

Thanks for the time,

- Chris / Admin
