It should have been Happy NGD.... but it isn't now. Thanks to the courier:(

To say I am gutted is a major understatement. I've been waiting a week for my Ibanez SZ520QM to arrive. Making big plans for new pickups and what not, and just generally looking forward to my first play.

It got sent on Friday by courier. I said to the seller "Please make sure it's well packaged".

It arrived today in a padded gig bag with tape around it and a tiny bit of bubblewrap on the inside!!

This is what I found when I took it out:

I am disproportionately upset about this. I can't really explain why. I just feel soul destroyed and can't get my mind onto my work this morning. I guess I'd just been looking forward to this guitar so much......

A quick look on eBay reveals the next one is £70 more than this cost me and isn't anywhere near as nice as the blue.

That's painfull...

Did you filled a claim at the courrier?

You should also get an estimate at the repair.

I have emailed the seller to tell them what's happened. Awaiting a response....

Even if it is repaired, the wood will be dented in the corner

Actually, a good luthier (or anyone that works wood) could make it almost perfect.

Depending on how deep it is, they will use either wood filler or a peice of wood like the top, glu it in, continue the "stripes" in the wood to be the same as what it is now, colormatch, finish and you wouldn't be able to tell where it was!

Only, it costs to get a job like this. But, you shouldn't have to pay for it!

Don't worry about the dent, they're ment to happen with nice playing guitars I sure it won't be noticed by your listeners when repaired.

Congrats on the first bump (we should make a topic for this!)

We'll see what the seller says. They are contacting the courier. If they say look keep it and have your money back because they've managed to get a payout from the courier, I'll probably keep it and have repaired. Anything less and it's not worth my while.

Ouch! They must have dropped it pretty roughly a time or two. Hopefully they will make it up to you one way or another.

Just think, the density of the wood has now been increased and it'll resonate better. Just trying to make you feel better! Definitely a sucky experience.

Damn that is really crappy. Make the courier pay for a proper pro repair. It may cost more than the guitar did, but hey, you don't care, it's the courier that has to pay!

Damn that's to bad. Yes it's the couriers problem so they should pay you. Don't back down with your claim.

The seller is claiming. Turns out he only insured it for £100. No Idea what's going to happen now, but likely scenario is me having to send it back and him give me a refund.
