Should i get a new neck?

Well i got my 550 about 2 weeks ago and it was in pretty good shape, the only problem was the dirty neck. So i took it to a tech and he told me that the neck wasn't dirty it was the usage. So would you recommend me to get a new neck or should i just stay with the same?

just wanted to know if it affects the guitar in any negative way. Is it just a physical problem?

How's the fret-wear on it?? How does it feel? If it's useage you should be able to clean it. Up to you really

Re: Should i get a new neck?

as long as the frets/ action isn't affected i wouldn't worry about it, this just adds characture to the guitar...

Yeah, i'm gonna keep it like it is, with the "vintage" look.

I LOVE a stained fretboard. It looks awesome!

I want my 550 to stain more. . .which its slowly doing.

I like that - "it's not dirty, it's the usage". I'm tryin' to figure out what THAT means, and if I can use that reasoning to not do laundry...

What i mean by useage is that the wood is not bight and new, the wood (mmm...how to explain) is getting ummmmm... old!

Re: Should i get a new neck?

I prefer a beat up neck than a new one ..... much more easier to play ....but as long as the fret doesn't worn out than it's alright

I think the term is 'worn in' neck.
