Should I go for JPM P3? - 1140$ cased and shipped....

topic and description says all... *Ok, lemme say first, is there any reason I shouldn't be leary about paying a money order first and then receiving the goods? *I am just nervous about being screwed over or something like that. *

It is supposedly in great condition with no chips or similar defects, just some scratches and some tremolo wear. *Everything is original (as far as I can tell from the pics)

Any advice and or suggestions from your used guitar vets? *Any comments on the deal?

Thanks,

James

P.S. *I've finally got off my lazy behind and regged in the forum.. *Bout time. *First post. *yahoo.

Should I go for JPM P3?

haha hey rich,
nah.. not yet.. still debating cause I am trying to make myself open to choices

Its either JPM, or EBMM JP, or JemVWH
Sadly, I eliminated JS1000 from my choices because of cosmetic and neck issues (I don't like fenderish feel) *And I eliminated any possibility of a 7 string (I don't feel I'm ready for one yet)

Rich you getting tired of my questions yet? hahahahaha

Update: *my bad, I might not have answered your question.. *The guy took it off cause he was iffy about selling it, but now that I talk to him, hes ready to sell to me for 1140$ cause hes looking for a new axe anyhow.. so we're kinda dealing off of ebay territory although its the same guy- the pics are just from the ended auction

Should I go for JPM P3?

Description I recieved -

The guitar is in good condition with (2) small dings, one near the input and
one at the very bottom of the back of the guitar strap on the back side. The
tremolo has wear, possibly from hand sweat, I suppose. There are slight pick
scratches on the graphic.

> dings or chips? measure the size of each. trem worn down to silver?

I belive them to be chips, the one near the input is about the size of a
pencil lead (no.2). The one on the bottom near the guitar strap is about
half of a centimeter. The person who owned it before me tried to fix it
themselves by painting it in. Only the top where the strings lock in is worn
to the silver.

Still not that bad a price, just not for me.

Should I go for JPM P3?

Ah.. *Thanks for the info man, greatly appreciated

Rich, what do you think the max value of this JPM is?
Do you think it could last me a LONG time?

I'm seriously considering this deal, even though still leary about the sending of the money first

BTW Rich.. I appreciate the non-salesman attitude *= *) *Sorry if I don't go VWH

No reason it wouldn't "last" like any other JPM. I'm not going to try and place a value based on a description of which there's already different versions.

Should I go for JPM P3?

I found a good deal on a P3 a while back ($700 at GC after my rumage sale skillz put to use)... it was beat up kinda bad. *Several clearcoat or deeper "dings"... bad fret wear... hardware finish was fading... I still sold for $1k with every "problem" well documented. *IMHO, a guitar in that condition just isn't worth that price. *For $1200-ish... I personally would save the few extra bucks to buy a new EBJPM.

Should I go for JPM P3?

I recommend a new EBMM JPM as well. *Overall they're much nicer guitars than the Ibanez (sorry folks). *If you think you'll use it, I recommend getting the 7 string over the 6. *The 7 sounds better and to me is easier to play.

Allright. *That P3 doesn't seem like "the deal of a lifetime" anymore anyhow.. *I played on the VWH just about an hour ago. *Jeez. *So nice. *I think I'm gonna go VWH
Thanks all
